Too easy to forget to set up the e-mail address for a mailbox

so i am a special case and was definitely over-tired at least one of these times, but i set up three or four e-mail accounts and forgot to create the actual address twice— once only caught a week later after e-mails already went out, carefully configured in roundcube for the non-existent address. :person_facepalming:

Things that could help:

  • When creating a user account and checkmarking “Add a mailbox to this account”, rather than only the “you can receive email at @mail.mayfirst.org and/or set your own email address via the Email Address tab” message, having a form element show up that allows adding an initial address at an associated domain would be wonderful.
  • Show an alert message if there is a domain connected to the overall account and any mailbox has no associated account domain e-mail address— if not control-panel-wide, at least an indicator on the Mailboxes page or the specific mailbox line on that page.

Thanks for the feedback @ben-agaric - I will have a hard time with the form element - but I agree that’s the nicest solution. I can definitely look into the warning. That should be easy. Although if we give a warning like that we would also need a system to dismiss or hide warnings (in case people intentionally have a mailbox without an address) which is more complicated.
