Dunno if this is the best way/place to ask, but…
I’m working on a project to get a community-owned platform setup for a non-profit that organizes food sovereignty work in the Hudson Valley and New York City region (CSAs, mutual aid, education, food pantries, etc). There’s a whole long-winded design doc describing the whole concept, but TL;DR: I’m looking to host a few lightweight services like Grist and maybe a few individual instances of farmOS (Drupal distro, nothing too heavy), with the intent to grow slowly and host more free software tools over time that the community can direct the development of.
I know MFMT has no aspirations to becoming a service provider (per home page), so it’s totally cool if this is outside the group’s scope, but since I was given to believe there were some MFMT people and hardware in the general vicinity, I thought it would be in keeping with the spirit of tech sovereignty to see if there’s capacity to host a VPS for that kind of project, or even get more involved if there’s interest.
I’m also appreciative of any recommendations for cooperative VPS hosting in the Northeast region or not too far away in the continental US. I think the Capsul folks or Electric Embers are next down the list, if they’d have capacity, but MFMT was my 
choice!

for VPS, but I’m pursuing some funding, atm, which should help w/ hosting costs + dev. I would love a chunk of that 
to go somewhere aligned on cooperative principles. Plus if there’s any other form of material support ( 
or 
) that could be directed May First’s way as a byproduct – e.g., if there’s something you’d like to do that would also directly serve this project and feed back into your general infra, I’d love to make that happen. But then, I shouldn’t count those unhatched chicks just yet.
